With our national championships fast approaching (at Sail Port Stephens, see for www.asba.org.au/event/2017-national-championship/ more details) it's once again time for us to hold our AGM. To be conducted this year at Soldiers Point Marina after the first days racing. If you have something you'd like to be discussed send us a submission by the 23rd of March and if can't attend in person, send us your proxy by the 3rd of April.

For thee association to be vibrant and active, we need a vibrant and active committee. We need people with a variety of skill sets relating to sailing and more general management but more importantly we want people who are passionate about sports boat racing and want to put something back into our community. Anyone with good marketing skills would certain help fill a skills gap on the team at the moment but we would love to see any member willing to step up and make a contribution.

There's not too much for you to do to be nominated, you just need to put your name forward at the AGM and we get a proposer and seconder from the floor of the meeting. However it would be great to discuss this with you beforehand to work out what role you could fill. Just send an email to info@asba.org.au and one of the existing committee will contact you.

You can find the official notice here ->

With summer in full swing and all that silly offshore racing done and dusted its time for the NSW regatta season and Sports boats are well represented. If you’re from across the border then consider bringing your boat down for 3 consecutive weekends of sportie racing and call yourself a FIFO sailor! Our man on the ground Jim Dwyer (james.dwyer@asba.org.au) can help assist with storage.

Festival of Sails wrapped up.
A win To Julian Newton on Game On by only one point to Tyler Ratcliff on Heat then a further five points back to Tim Smith on Black Betty
In the end a fairly close regatta and I would hesitate to say the most fun had at a regatta for quite a while.
There are a lot of Sports Boats out there that missed out, lets just make sure the Nationals at Port Stephens are as much fun and we get a few more boats attend, start planning your weekend - April 7,8 and 9.

Thanks to Nic Douglas for the great coverage,
