Thompson 600 “Motavation”

“Motavation” is a lightweight Sports Boat that can be sailed easily by a crew of three (All up).

The carbon rig setup gives good acceleration with little or no tweaking required.
Downwind it is just awesome, with the asymmetric spinnakers moving the boat onto a plane quickly to give thrilling and easily managed rides.

The hull was professionally built in 2004 as a T590 from lightweight fibreglass construction (i.e. Keel/hull 380 kg).

The hull was extended to 6 metres in 2009 by Windrush Yachts and rig changed to the latest Main, Jib and Gennaker configuration for the T590 from drawings supplied by Steve Thompson.

Current sail plan (i.e. Main and jib) is 21 sm. Drawings are available with the boat for 25 sm which would result in a Sail/Weight ratio similar to a Viper 640.

M750 Sportsboat

7.5m sports boat designed to compete as either a sports-boat or trailer sailer. Ideal for bay Racing. This boat was completed in 2003 but has only competed four times, the last time being the St Helena Cup in 2007.

Designed by Naval Architect Brett Murrie with rig and foils designed by Julian Bethwaite of Bethwaite design.

Features full ¾ Carbon fibre rig and retractable canting bow sprit. Fully battened mainsail and non-overlapping head sail in Kevlar by North Sails, Brisbane; 2 Asymmetric Spinnakers (1 masthead, 1 hounds).

Adjustable cap and D1 stays for optimal and automatic de-powering in all conditions. Hull is foam core construction using vinyl ester resins finished in 2 pack polyurethane. Keel is retractable using a removable cockpit crane and is carbon fibre reinforced with 300kg lead ballast.

The galvanized road trailer has an extending drawbar for easy launching and was purpose built with cradle. Trailer is also fitted with override braking system.
