Heaven Can Wait

Yes, I know, you are probably thinking about getting over Xmas and New Year before you think of anything else – right?

But spare a thought for the 2017 Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta on beautiful Lake Macquarie – it is less than 2 months away, and the earlier you get your entry in, the earlier you can start in the ‘Virtual’ Fund Raising race and challenge for the Fund Raisers Trophy. Its easy, all you have to do is register in the event, take the option to raise funds through Everydayhero and then ask your friends and business associates to sponsor you in the event. Go to www.heavencanwait.com.au or https://www.rmyctoronto.com.au/heaven-can-wait/, and follow the links for the Entry System.

And don’t forget the charity fund raising dinner dinner on the Friday night before the regatta – Friday February 17 where you will hear from Tom Burton – Laser Gold Medalist at the Rio Olympics and Leisl Tesch – Gold Medalist at the Rio Paralympics, interviewed by Helene O’Neil – well known ABC Newcastle sports commentator. Another highlight of the dinner will be the Charity Auction and we will also have some legendary and unique items to auction off including shirts and photos signed by our sailing olympians, a mens suit, vintage Port and more, so put the date in your diary now. The two course dinner will be at the Royal Motor Yacht Club Toronto and tickets are $55 per head and you can book your place now by sending an email to hcwdinner@rmyctoronto.com.au

So, are you up to doing the Classic events – the Long One Lap Dash, the Short One Lap Dash or the Dinghy Dash, or are you Challenged by the 12 Hour Race and sailing around the cans half way into the night, or do you and your crew have the stamina to do 24 Hours around the cans in what is a unique charity sailing event in Australia. Whatever you leaning, you wont forget the experience, so, register now and start raising money for this worthwhile charitable cause – the Hunter Branch of Cancer Council NSW and their Home Help Program supporting terminal and recovering cancer patients with domestic duties that they are unable to fulfill because of their condition.

The Heaven Can Wait Notice of Race is on the club website – https://www.rmyctoronto.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/HCW-2017-NOR-V6-Rev-1.pdf and the Sailing Instructions will be available approximately 1 week before the event.
